Our Expert Team

Our founders, Dick and BonAdell Skidmore, were raised on farms where they learned the value of hard work. As a teenager, Dick apprenticed as a carpenter. BonAdell had a natural eye for color palettes and design. After Dick was honorably discharged from the Army, he and BonAdell moved their family to Idaho Falls to frame houses. One summer was all it took to convince them to stay and establish Skidmore Construction in 1958. Dick and BonAdell raised their children in the business. The kids were frequent visitors to the office and construction sites and provided great manual labor.

Randy began working on the framing crew in high school and specialized in roof trusses. Drafting and Design were his next steps and he developed a love of drawing plans by hand. Randy worked on all of the early stages of developing Comore Loma. He dug trenches and ran water lines along with doing excavation and pouring foundations on many homes.

Brett worked on the framing and foundation crews during the summers while in high school and moved into finish carpentry full time when he was 18. Brett’s natural progression in the business was designing and drawing plans and eventually into Project Management.

Both Randy and Brett took Drafting and Design Classes at Rick’s College (BYU Idaho).

The tradition of raising children in the business continued as Randy and Brett had families of their own and began teaching their children construction.

Randy’s son, Rick, worked for the company as a framer and finish carpenter beginning in 2008 and later got a degree in Business Management with a Marketing emphasis. During college, Rick worked for a contractor in Rexburg and gained more building knowledge along the way. Rick is the Sales and Marketing Manager and takes care of Business Development.

Russ is also Randy’s son and started working for the company in 2012 on the finish crew and framing crew. He also built cabinets. Currently Russ is Warehouse Manager.

Brett’s son, Braxton, started working for the company in 2014 while attending BYU Idaho. He has learned demo, framing, finish carpentry and cabinet installation. Braxton owned a Lawncare company in partnership with his cousin for 10 years and learned about business management. He is now Operations Manager.

All 5 talented Skidmore’s work together to manage the day-to-day operations of the company.
